Our History

Melbourne Tractors Group first opened its doors in 1983 in North Coburg, Victoria.  At the start of the Melbourne Tractors venture, the business dealt solely in agriculture supplying New Holland Tractors to the northern suburbs of Melbourne and beyond. However, as the area expanded, as well as the company – it wasn’t long before construction machinery was added to Melbourne Tractors list of attributes.

Over the years, we continued to add more machinery and attachments to our existing range. We secured a larger number of DDA rights with various industry-leading Brands such as Kobelco Excavators, Terex Positrack Loaders, MSB Hammers and New Holland Construction.

In the early 90’s Melbourne Tractors moved premises to Campbellfield, just north of Coburg. Due to the companies continuously growth, new branches were introduced to Melbourne Tractors Group including Ballarat Tractors in 2000, Melbourne Tractors Dandenong and Brisvegas Machinery (Brisbane) in 2008 and Meltrac Machinery in 2018. In 2019, our headquarter relocated its premises to Somerton, where we still have a branch today.
